However, early Egyptians are credited with distilling the spicier scents to embalm the dead; Greek medicine man Hippocrates used essential oils for a variety of healing purposes; and a French chemist is credited with creating the term, aromatherapy, after his discovery that lavender could help cure burns.

Peppermint – used to aid in digestion, relieve indigestion and help with respiratory problems
Orange – obtained from the peels of oranges, this essential oil is believed to help with muscle spasms, especially coughs, be an anti-inflammatory and act as a mild aphrodisiac
